Golf and lunch in Springfield, Illinois

Today was made in heaven for golf, just a little cool, slightly windy, but clear and bright for most of the time on the course. Ron was golfing-however, I was just walking around hitting a little white ball with a custom wooden stick. Oh my gosh, the only thing good about my game was the walk
outside and being with my honey.

In the middle of the golf course there was a beautiful pond with swans.

We asked several local people what was the best local cuisine and they all said "go to Darcy's and have either a horseshoe or a pony". So after golf, we did and we both had" ponies". WAAAAY to much food, but delicious. First on the plate was a piece of Texas toast , followed by your choice of meat, add onions,  bacon and on the top french fries, then fresh tomotoes, and then topped with  melted cheese. It was soooooo good. We should have ordered only 1.

  1. The course looks so flat... like the rest of Illinois. Glad you two are having so much fun.

    1. Most of the courses we have been on have been really flat-just a few were made for mountain goats. We are having a blast..We have walked all the courses except 2 and they were made for golf carts. Have fun on your trip.
