CNN, Atlanta Georgia

This morning we were in downtown Atlanta before 9am, good thing, there was a Falcon/Raiders game and the stadium is right next to the CNN complex. Fortunately we got a close parking spot and we early enough to miss the football game traffic. We took a tour of CNN and it was so interesting, and the complex is huge and had 7-10 fast food restaurants on the first floor. To start the tour we took an escalator 8 floors  up (worlds longest  free standing escalator.)

The tour guide asked for a volunteer to read off the tela-promters-it was not an easy task-but it was fun and I really loved being on fake TV.

One of the major news  rooms a CNN-from the start of a routine story until it is aired is between 4-8 hours.(except a breaking news story). During the week this room accommodates 50-100 people.

This picture was taken as we walked away from the CNN complex toward the Coca Cola museum. We were walking through Centennial Park (1996 Olympics).
