The annual Christmas parade and food drive was today in our park, we teamed up with our friends Wayne and Pauline. We had such fun planning, buying and putting it together. Their hats were battery operated-they moved and played music-such fun!! Pauline and I had baskets with candy in them and we gave the candy to the crowds. (what is a parade without elves giving away free candy?) We had quite the surprise-out of 35 participant's we were awarded first prize. Yikes we were surprised!! Ron and Wayne started out pulling the float-but it soon became too heavy. Yesterday when were were putting it together-it was really windy so we added bricks and paving stones to hold the decorations on...Not thinking that it would make it soooo heavy. About 1/2 through we snagged a ride for our float and we finished in style. It was a fun time and the weather was perfect..

There were 2 different "watering holes" for the folks that were in the parade. The first had straight cranberry juice or cranberry juice with whiskey. The second one had egg nog straight or with rum. They were both quite popular.. I know that we enjoyed them both.
It was a fun day, and I am already thinking about next year!!!
