We left Pierre, S. Dakota at about 0:900 on Friday the 27th of April with the wind blowing on a scale of 4/10, after we were on the road for 30 minutes the wind was blowing 10/10. We were only able to go between 40-45 MPH. and at times that was too fast. When we stopped for gas; Ron opened the door, the door flew out of his hands and slammed into the rig. It was the worst wind we had either one ever been in. It was a miserable long trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We figured the gas mileage and we only got 5.3 MPH. We arrived at Sioux Falls and stayed in the Wall Mart parking lot and then the rain started and yikes I was glad we were not on a hill top-we would have floated down the hill. It was still so windy that we decided not to put the slide out for the living room.
We left the next morning about 08:00 and the weather was just great, only a slight breeze and partially cloudy. We arrived in Lincoln Nebraska about 15:00 and we were on the golf course "Crooked Creek" and teeing off at around 16:30. What a beautiful course, very well kept up, and a long long course about 3000 ft. We had a young man check us in and asked if we wanted a cart and we said "no, we will walk", he had a shocked look on his face and said to his counter part with big grin-"these 2 are going to walk!!" He was really surprised-I guess to look at our grey hair he thought we needed to ride. We were on that course for 2+ hours and saw many many golfers but-we were the only walkers!! We had a great round-although the walking exercise was much better than our scores.
I left the camera home and we took some pictures on our phones-but we do not know how to download or upload them on our computers (another honey do project for a later date)
This morning we went to the laundromat. I did the ironing and Ron did a "honey do list". We are in midst of planning our day at the capitol and to tour several museums for Monday, then get ready to leave on Tuesday am for Topeka, Kansas.
