Apple Valley Minnesota-state capitol, cathedral and museum

Our trip from Grimes, Iowa was uneventful, other than Ron had ordered a part for our tow bar last week and it was supposed to be in on Thursday, but did not show up until Friday at noon. We left shortly after 12:00 and arrived in the Lebonon Hill county camp ground about 5:30 pm. It was a nice drive 0 wind and 0 rain, what a nice treat for us.
This morning we went to the St Paul Cathedral, and we were surprised at the amount of people that were there standing room only actually. We talked to one of the secretaries and she said it was a baptismal day that included 3 other parishes. No wonder it was so full.

St Paul, Minnesota- State Capitol,This was our first tour that was not on a weekday.
We were disappointed in the tour guide, she was in a hurry
and very impersonal, and we just barley got the basics.

These golden horses are close to the top of the capital (as seen in the upper picture)and on our tour we were taken up 63 windy, steep  stairs to view them. They are  absolutely beautiful and the detail is unbelievable.

This is the only chandelier that we saw in the whole capital-it was
down from the dome-because the dome sprung a leak.

This was the sign that greeted us when we walked in the Minnesota History Center
