St Louis, Mo, riverboat trip, Gateway Arch and the Cardinals

We left the RV park in Litchfield, Ill at 7:30 on 5/24/12 and headed into St Louis for the day. We had reservations for a paddle wheeler cruise on the Mississippi river and then to the top of the Gateway Arch. We had our phone GPS to get us there so we had no problems. On our way into the area that we parked,  there was at least 2 blocks of graffiti and it was beautiful to look at. As you can see by where we are parked it is on Mississippi river bank-no worries-the tide was not set to come in. It cost us $4.00 to park all day.

It was a very windy day in St Louis, not a cloud in the sky 89 degrees and high humidity.

We got into the yellow capsule behind door number 3 and rode to the top of the arch, 4 minutes up and 3 minutes down-there was 5 passengers in that little capsule, it was an ok ride, but a bit bumpy. What bothered me the most was the swaying when we got out at the top, it is built to sway 9 inches each way and it was doing all of that and more. You can see out each of the windows-they look small in the picture and they are  small when you are looking out them

The cruise down the Mississippi was really fun and the captain was full
of all kinds of interesting facts about the Mississippi
After our tour of the Gateway Arch and the riverboat tour we went for a tour of Busch Stadium from the bottom to the top. It was facinating and we had a great tour guide.
We are in the broadcasting booth  looking out in the picture below.

2011  Worlds series trophy.

We had so much fun on the tour we got baseball fever and decided to go to the game. We had the absolute best seasts, we were 3 rows back and close to third base-doesn't get any better that this. We finally got home about 11pm. we really got our $4 dollars worth of parking.
