New Jersey's state house

We left the motor home this morning about 8am and the temperature was already 85 degrees. From where we had to park to the state house it was about 4 blocks and we were absolutely dripping with sweat by the time we got there.

This state house was absolutely beautiful from the bottom to the top.

New Jersey's state seal done in stained glass
On either side of the lamp in the middle is a small light, if the senate was in session, the light on the right would be green, if the representatives were in session, the light on the left would be red.
When the state house was built electricity was still not very reliable, thus gas lights were installed on the top and the electric with bulbs were installed on the bottom.
This was the original supreme court, but it is now used for the senate committee room, in the top of the picture you can see where the ceiling is cut away and looks like an inverted dome, that was done so that when some one was under that space the acoustics were better to carry to the back of the room

One of the many beautiful hallways in the state house.

Woodrow Wilson, our 28th President, was also Governor of New Jersey
and President of Princeton University.

Directly across the street from the state house was the World War II  Memorial. It was so uniquely done, we were not able to spend as much time as we wanted to because of the high heat.

When we got home about 1:30 and it was 101 degrees!! Will it ever cool down?????
