Nevada-Carson City-capitol, museum and mint 4.11.13

We left Sacramento at about 0800 and arrived in Reno around 11:00, got settled and left for the state capitol and the state museum. Around the capitol the spring flowers were starting to bloom, they were absolutely beautiful. The weather is really different now, sunny and no wind but cool.

Restored Supreme Court and we were the judges today.

This door is an emergency exit - it leads to a fire escape type stairs-on the second floor.

This capitol had been restored-but it does not have the look or feel of a capitol that has been restored. The above room is the assembly room-it was empty-the picture right above is the Senate chamber-but it was filled with pictures and an enclosed office of one of the earliest governors.

We decided that was probably a very uncomfortable chair. Can you imagine?
The state museum was very interesting, but the most unique exhibits were the early slot machines! All original-dated in the early 1900's.

This mint was closed in the 1800's, but they run the coin machine the last Friday
of every month and mint coins that are sold in the gift shop. Very interesting
and the whole museum was well worth the time we spent.
