Cheyenne, Wyoming-capitol 7.29.13

We arrived in Cheyenne, Wyoming on the 29th of July and decided to get settled and go into Cheyenne to tour the capitol. There were no formal tours-just a self guided tour on paper.
The dome of the capitol was originally made of copper-but it tarnished so badly that it was
covered in gold leaf since 1900. It has been gilded  5 times, with the last being 2010.
The Wyoming state seal is inlaid in the front foyer of the capitol. It is absolutely beautiful.
Abe Lincoln bust-biggest one we have we have seen yet. All thru the capitol is white Italian
marble and black tile from Wyoming, the different coloring in each tile are fossils.
These beautiful rugs were through out the capitol in doorways.
3000 pound American Bison-State Mammal of Wyoming.

Senate ceiling is inlaid with Tiffany style glass.

The inside of the dome in the rotunda.
1000 pound chandelier hangs  in the Legislative conference room. below a 4 pane stained glass insert.
The House and the Senate have these granite desks.

A quarry by Wheatland, Wyoming provided the granite for the desks,
and the desks were made by a company in Lander, Wyoming.
 "The spirit of Wyoming"
The grounds were just beautiful with flower beds mingled in with the grass.
