After we visited the capital, we decided to find a down home "Southern" lunch. About a block from the capital there was "Underground Atlanta" which housed a variety of restaurants and a multitude of small shops that catered to the 15-25 year old uneducated folks. It was the kinda place that a policeman was on every corner.
The "Georgia Peaches" restaurant was very nice-nicely furnished and it was very clean. Our waiter was a very big black man who I had a terrible time understanding when he talked.
I wanted Southern cuisine and our waiter suggested sweet potato pie that was rolled in
a sweet batter, deep fried and then sprinkled with powered sugar. OH MY GOSH-
it was absolutely the best, out to lunch, I have had in a long time.
Ron ordered a hamburger, the hamburger patty was 3/4 inch, a slice of tomato that was at least 1/3 inch thick and the bun was Texas toast and he said it was delicious.
The second part of my Southern cuisine lunch was fried green tomatoes with feta cheese. OH MY GOSH another great part of my lunch.
The traffic here is unbelievable-7 lanes of traffic going each way!! Reminded me of New York,
