Alabama

First thing this morning we drove into Montgomery, Alabama and caught a sight-seeing trolley with "Ray". He was delightful and very knowledgeable about the downtown area. He dropped us off at the capital and we walked around for awhile touring the area. The weather was perfect for walking in the morning, sun shining, 68 degree's, 0 humidity and no wind.

The capitol was beautiful, understated quality and design.

The staircases and railings were some of the loveliest we have seen.

The senate and the house of representatives do not do business in the capitol anymore. They are  located in the same vicinity. This Senate room was used in the 1800's.

The rotunda is just beautiful, this picture does not do it justice.

The paintings at the base of the rotunda were shaded and painted so soft, they were easy on the eyes.

This beautiful building is devoted to the "Retirement Services of Alabama."
