Once we left the capitol ,we drove to the Oklahoma National Memorial
Museum. It was an experience that neither one of us will ever forget.
After the bombings 100's of school children sent ceramic tiles to the children
of Oklahoma City, signifying that they were not alone. Some of the tiles
were made into a decorative wall around the entrance of the Memorial Museum.
This museum was laid out (prior to the bombing)9:01 4/19/1995 until several
weeks after the bombing, it was absolutely the most moving museum we have ever seen.
It was done professionally and done so that we actually felt the devastation of the
bombing and the pain of the people involved.
There are 168 chairs with the name of each person killed in the bombing.
The names are engraved on the front of the chairs.
At each end of the reflection pool is a structure with 9:01on one end and the other end is
9:03-these times represent prior to and after the bombing, that life never will be the same.
This Mexican restaurant came highly recommended for our
Valentines Day dinner. It was good but......
