Windshield and minor repairs in Clearwater, Fl

When we were at the Good Sam Rally, in November in Daytona, we had our "foggy" windows taken out and the fog removed. When they were putting them back in we asked the crew chief to look at our windshields because we had had a leak in the front and Ron couldn't seem to get the right spot caulked. He looked and said that we had rust around our windshield and that was causing the water to come in above the windshield. We asked him about replacing the windshield and the caulking and he said that was not possible until the rust was removed from the frame!! (always something) Come to find out it was a common problem with Winnebago's. He advised that we make an appointment with "Dar" in Clearwater, Fl. So, we left Orlando on the morning of the 28th of January,
saying good bye to our new friends and to Mickey and Minnie. We arrived in the afternoon and spent the night "boondocking" in the parking lot.

The next morning "Mike" came to take our windshield windows out and then "Dar" was going to get rid of the rust on the window frame. It was absolutely fascinating to watch Mike take out the windshields and not have them break in a million pieces.

While Mike was doing all of the work and visiting with Ron I was sitting in the sun and watching several men load and unload several different cars off a semi. The cars were some that I had never seen and the fellows were more than glad to talk about them to me. All of the antique cars were owned by Brian Johnson the lead singer of the ACDC band and he and his wife race them.

The 1928 Bentley below was taken out of the semi and then loaded onto a big enclosed car hauler (below) to be taken to Brian Johnson's home in Florida-so he could ride around in it for a while.!!

The next 2 cars were also antiques that he was going to race on Feb 1 and 2 at Sebring, Fl.

I forgot the name of the little white car above, but the green one below is a Lola T70 with
a 810 horse power, that goes  200 MPH. The original is in storage and the car
people built this replica for Brian and it is worth  1.2 million dollars. Yikes!!

To put this Lola in the semi-they push it and then put blankets around it to protect it.
What a life-these adult men are having so much fun!! Building cars and then taking care of them!!
They could store 5 cars plus the small white car in the semi to haul them to the races.
