Utah-Salt Lake City and temple square (LDS) 9.3.13

We took the wrong turn when looking for our RV park and drove by this yard. The mushroom tops are made with metal pots that have been painted. Thought that was such a cute idea. The pots are nailed into the top of the tree trunks.
The capitol sits atop a hill and looks over the city of Salt Lake, it is very majestic and stately looking.

These were made in the year that the winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City and are redecorated on occasion.
Capitol steps-my it was so hot..
 House of representatives
  Senate
This miniature traffic light was fashioned after the first traffic light in Salt Lake city. It was installed early on, in the senate, to control the time the people were allowed to speak. It is now controlled  through a computer that sits to the right side of the Senators.
The "Gold room" is where the fancy receptions are held with visiting  dignitaries.
Governors outer office. Wonder what the inner office looks like?
The marble staircases were gorgeous and pictures do not do them justice.

When were in Salt Lake a few years ago we ate at this pantry and remembered how good the food was. It still is delicious and we ate like there was tomorrow

I had a bread bowl filled with chicken soup and of course chocolate cake that melted in my mouth. Ron had beef tips and corn chowder, with a slice of berry pie. We actually waddled out.
The Latter Day Saints church is behind us.

All the flowers in Temple Square were at high bloom and we really enjoyed looking at them.
