Trip from Gypsum Co to Green River Utah

This saddle hanging from the post is a new sight for us. We were going to stop at a Costco store and spend the night-but after the day we had yesterday and add in 99 degree weather-we stopped in Gypsum. We drove over a  peak that was 11,000 ft and our motor home transmission was not shifting correctly, we were going 20-35 MPH over the mountain. We unhooked the car and the rig started to act normal. Got to Gypsum and the transmission  fluid was clear and cool. My gosh, we have  had more challenges in the last 6 weeks than we had all of last year. Enough is enough already.
We decided that the drive from Gypum Co. to Green River, Utah was the most beautiful drive we have had yet. Our pictures do not do the colors justice, the rock formations were various shades of red and almost a rust color and the greens were vibrant.

We went through 3 tunnels and every time-I though about the tunnel in Boston, where the camera was swinging in front of the passenger side of the rig, at eye level.

This is about 60% of the true color-the real color is much more brilliant and much more of a contrast of the red and green.

This river was so red! Looked like dark liquid rust.

Once we were out of the red rock formations we drove into hills that looked like sand dunes-but they were sand colored rock. It was such amazing scenery. We went from beautiful mountains to the picture below-more like death valley.
