Bismarck, South Dakoto-state capitol and Heritage Center

Bismark is on Central time which is 2 hours different that home, so when it is 09:00 here it is 07:00 at home, it has been somewhat of an adjustment for both of us. Two time zones in 4 weeks is pushing the envelope on our sleep/wake cycles. We have been getting started later and later in the morning for our day to begin. We arrived at the capital about 10:30 on 4/24/12 and a tour started at 11:00.
We waited in the "hall of fame", which is on the same level that all people enter.

This beautiful grand entrance was closed shortly after 9/11for security reasons.

The above pictures are just a few of the paintings that are in the "Hall of fame", There is a total of 39 pictures in the hall and each person is either born in ND or spent a significant time in the state and have contributed  a variety of  ways. It was very impressive and the tour that we had was very fun and informative.

This museum was absolutely interesting-it went from prehistoric thru statehood.
We would highly recommend this museum to  everyone.

This (low cal, low fat) meal was a buffalo burger, home made onion rings and banana creme pie!! My!! it was really good .
