Lubec, Maine

On Saturday the 22nd of September, we went to Lubec, Maine and then took the international bridge to Campobello Island, Canada. We drove to the end of the island and viewed a famous light house. A person could walk to the light house on low tide only and the round trip could only take 60 minutes. We decided not to take the chance-the steps were extremely steep to go to the beach and then walk up another set of steep stairs up to the lighthouse.

This picture is almost low tide, and at high tide the steps on the back of the picture are covered with water. The difference in high and low tide is unbelievable-in some places the difference is 50 feet from low to high tide!

We met 3 ladies that took trips to paint different scenery, they would stay a week or 10 days and move onto the next place that took their fancy. Their average age was over 80, but  all 3 were feisty and sold their work on line.

FDR's summer house-it was beautifully furnished and the tour guides were great

We have only worn jeans 2 days since we left!! We are all for warm weather and no more long pants.

Along the highway there are many wild roses and after they bloom, they go into seed pods.
