Longaberger baskets, Columbus, Ohio

We are able to get on line through our "Hot spot", but at certain times I am not able to place our pictures on the blog because of lack of ?? on our hot spot. Today we went to a restaurant and asked if they had wi-fi and I was able to load the pictures on our blog. So I am in business again.

We arrived from Kentucky  30 miles west of Columbus about 1100 am on June 5th and promptly left for the  Longaberger Homestead for a tour and to make a basket. We were driving down the freeway and we looked ahead and there was a Longaberger basket building-It houses all the executive offices, we did not have time to stop-but we were impressed. We arrived at the welcome center about 5 minutes until 2 pm and the welcoming lady said if we hurried to the store across the street, get a ticket and we could be in a drawing for a free Longaberger basket and the drawing  would be at 2pm.  The first ticket drawn was Ron's... lucky us (I mean him).

Those apples look so real and the basket feels like real basket material.
I am clueless what the significant of the bear is-but it was a great photo op for us.

We had the nicest ladies help us make our baskets. We each made 1 and then we shared in the work of  another one. We chose the color of the basket material, trim etc. We had such fun..Now where to put them in the rig? They are not small and easily placed, but they are a pleasant reminder of a fun day.
