Louisiana's Old and new Capitol-Baton Rouge, 2/5/13

Old Capitol in Baton Rouge.

New Capitol built in the 1940's.

This capitol had a unique entrance. The first 13 steps had the names of the original 13 colonies.

We could not  get a picture of the Washington state steps from the bottom up, so we took the picture from the top down. I thought I could flip it, before I posted it, but no such luck!!

On the 27th  floor there was an observatory that had a 360 degree
view of Baton Rouge.Oil refinery's on the Mississippi River.

Old army barracks that were remodeled to house the members of the senate while they are in session.

The entrance to the capitol.

Another wonderful experience-it feels so good to be back on the road again.
